FtB has gone through years of hardship and enjoyment and we're still small I have come to a thought about the pillars of solid rhythm gaming. FtB sustains 4 important pillars those are:
1. Endurance - FtB has a huge varitety of charts other music games won't mind having. Extremely long, dense or, spammy ones are the fun things this game has. And to survive these charts, we have developed endurance
2. Sighteeading - This doesn't only involve reading huge clutters of notes but also gimmicks and speed changes. Some of the charts are capable of improving this skill
3. Accuracy - Although not given tight judgment, event and badges pushed us to improve on this pillar
4. Spam dealing - The weakness of o2jam ETs, spams. This is what defines FtB charts. We have learned to deal with jackhammers, Paul spams (yes ^^), extremely dense charts (air *cough *cough), and any other form of spams
However FtB faces a problem that is hard to solve when local (FtBers) face the outside world. This is the fifth pillar:
5. Long Notes - (Yay everyone hates me) Long Note is what defines ET and is the problem of some or maybe many FtBers. This is where spams, note reading, and hand-eye coordination is put to the test. When this is practiced, we will be able to be the best like no one ever was
There's a sixth pillar, that is mod/effectors/crazy options but this isn't really important
So, my petition is to add long note judgment to the game frame as: Part of the main game (hopefully not) As a crazy option that will increase the score yield of long notes (yes)
This will be hard but giving long notes a shot will help in the long run
Got the reference? Yes? No? Ok.

Most of the people (including me in the past) were against it some time ago. I would agree with it as long as it's not the same as osu!mania/o2mania or BMS, mostly because the majority of charts have notes at the end of long notes or speed changes that make long notes longer/shorter, also because we need to be a bit different from the most popular 7k games. Something that looks like stepmania's LN judgement would be just nice. It would only make a long note a miss if you weren't holding for let's say, half a second. I believe the time you can lift the LN in the middle of it should be a bit lower than SM's though. SM's LN judgement is pretty light being honest, it's made to be a pad game anyway.

I really like there being an option between ftb hold notes and long notes. With ftb hold notes as default of course

I suggested an option for the charter to choose when they upload a chart. Could be an option on a line in the .txt file or something, or just a checkbox when you upload the chart.
Assuming current high scores are kept on FtB4 as well, there might be some issue with changing charts that area already uploaded, and it might have to be for new charts only to keep consistency.

Oh actually, I meant a personal user setting that toggles long notes on or off on every chart. The charter option is cool too though

Yeah, I think the charter option makes more sense. Some charts could clearly be designed for long notes, where others aren't.
It would still be cool to have an option in user settings, kinda like a Crazy/Practice option you can set for one chart, so that you can play a LN chart without LN judgment, for either no score or severely reduced score, for example.
