So the site's been down a while, eh? Planned or otherwise?

Shouldn't be planned. We either have a hater who takes down the site, Tom started took down FtB because of no income, or the whole thorgaming has a problem. If planned, cake might have been devving.

Well links should be an easy fix, right? Also, I'd totally be happy to subscribe to something or put in contributions. I honestly like FTB way more than any other rhythm game out there, and I don't mind at all contributing to something I make use of and enjoy. Seems fair. Kinda harsh to just pull the site and demand payment out of nowhere though...
Anyway, what about a donation based solution? Set up a paypal to Tom, and some minimum funding goal that he wants to meet regularly (maybe a link and a progress bar showing how far we have to go for the month/year to meet a goal). That way it's safe, traceable, non-sketchy on the payment end, and on the game end, it's not necessarily pay-to-play and still encourages new users to try it out. At the same time, if he doesn't reach his quota, he can pull the site until he gets his funds.
Sidenote, that seems like a lot for hosting. What's required on the FTB back-end storage and bandwidth wise? Is it because it's attached to the rest of thorgaming? Has anyone thought of porting to an independent server so we aren't at the whim of someone who can pull the site whenever he wants?

Playin' with my heart, hahah. Hey, I still stand by my suggestions if it ever comes up. Plus with all the time you guys/cake puts into deving, donations wouldn't be half bad ^^.
Yeah all of thor being down and not just ftb was kind-of a giveaway, should have figured it was a joke in hindsight.
...I'll just slowly continue with my ftb withdrawal over here, don't mind me...

Well for now there's nothing we can really do. This used to happen pretty often in the past. We don't really have contact with Tom to know what's going on with his servers. Eventually FtB may be moved onto its own dedicated servers but that's going to be really expensive to keep running, so we have to deal with whatever problems Thorgaming has until that happens.
